I will be travelling to St Gallen in swizerland by end of April. Can anyone tell me the places to see around.?

Switzerland is quite expensive, so plan on spending about 120 CHF a night on a hotel, plus food (middle class restaurant: 25-30 CHF per meal). If you're looking for something cheaper, eat a a migros restaurant. It's selve service caferteria style, lots of choices, great food and non smoking!  There are some good places to shop, but again, don't be looking for deals because you won't find any.
