I am 36 weeks pregnant.Today I had this really weird experience,I was just in the kitchen doing some normal stuff when all of a sudden I started sweating a lot,I went to go wash my face and dried it off but I would still keep on sweating! Then I started to feel my heart beating really fast. While in the kitchen I started to get this need to feed myself in that very instant.I reached into the refrigerator and got some food and put it in the microwave,I don't know why but 3 minutes at that time was too much for me to wait for the food to heat up, so then while I was still in that weird experience I looked up and saw the cookies and I couldn't wait any longer so I started to eat cookies like a pig trying to satisfy that urge I had. When the food was finally done I still kept on eating like a fu*king pig. After I ate I went to go and lie in bed because I was still sweating alot. Then I felt the huge need to go to sleep so I did.I didn't wake up until about 2 hours later as normal as ever.I don't know if anyone else has gone through this or something is wrong with me.Please help me with your opinion about this episode I had.

  1. I think u were low on sugar. my cousin had the same at later stage in pregnancy. Its best to eat every 2 hours in last trimester. and drink water

  2. Pregnancy can do a ton of weird things. Especially towards the end. I had a lot of hot flashes like that. I couldn't stop sweating for a few minutes then it would be gone. At your next doc appt. bring it up. It's probably nothing but this far along you don't want anything to be wrong. Good luck.

  3. the line about eating like  fuxxxg pig made me laugh,,, thats funny!, lol

mayb your coming down with something?,,,, or sometimes its something u ate that caused the sweating?

when i was breastfeeding my bub as an infant i asked a question if other mums got hot flashes and sweaty all the time?

but i finally worked  it out,,,, i was drinking ginger beer every day for weeks,,, can u beleive it! that stuff made me so freakin hot

have u drank any lately?,, or any foods with ginger?

  4. Well your approaching your due date and that means the bigger both you and baby get therefore your going to need to eat more to compensate. as for the need and the urge to have it right then and there shouldn't be too much to worry about. our bodies are very smart and when we need something we need it.

The sweating issue happened to me during my last trimester and you just got to deal with it by drinking a lot of fluids especially water to help replace what your sweating out of your body and laying down when you feel lightheaded.

If this keeps happening just tell your doctor on your next visit which should be about weekly now, and I'm sure they will help ease your anxieties about that situation.

  5. well i feel like that when i have morning sickness. i havent had the sweat thing but it may have been hot where you were?

  6. First, at 36 weeks - you need to call your OB in the morning.  I had the rapid heartbeat/sweating in my first pregnancy also.  With my 3rd child, I told my (new) OB about my previous 2 babies (they were 11lbs 5oz and 10lbs 6oz).  Anyway...I was tested at a regular time for Gestation Diabetes with the first two, and I passed them both, my new OB (with the 3rd pregnancy) tested at reg time (and passed) she repeated it 4 weeks later....and it was positive for GD and I had to have insulin.  We suspect that I had it with the first two, and it didn't get caught.  All that to say....you could have very well had a massive drop in sugar levels, ate cookies that got your levels back up, but it wore you out, so you slept.  Another possiblity is that during pregnancy, you have such an increas in bloodflow, that it caused your blood pressure to go up and down rapidly....and that could cause those symptoms also....  I would strongly suggest you call your Doc in the AM...either way..it's not normal.  Good luck!!  Hope you feel better soon~

  7. If I were to guess I would say it was a panic attack or something along those lines.  The sweating and racing heart sound like an attack.  I am not really sure about the eating but mabey it was nervous eating.  I would mention it to your Dr and see what they say.

  8. Ooh, be a bit kinder to yourself. You are heavily pregnant and carrying a lot of extra weight - that's bound to make you hot and bothered (and sweaty) every now and then. It also makes you d**n hungry and tired. What you have experienced is perfectly fine although keep an eye on your blood pressure to be sure. That should be monitored every doctor visit at the moment. I don't think it's abnormal and I don't think it's doing your bub any harm. But do watch your blood pressure closely when your heart is beating really fast. Good luck.
