if crabbing from pier, where is the best place for crabbing?

also, is it ok to catch a crab at night time? daytime is too~~~ hot.

Yeh, night time is great. Look for places at low tide that show that they are actually very shallow when the tide comes in - that is where you want to crab, when the tide comes in. Chum, a lot!  Chum some more. Use chicken necks with large monofilament loops knotted into it - tied to the end of a strong string. Forget the crab traps - this way, you got many crabs coming - can't get away - claws tangled in line

romancoke pier matapeake pier ocean city in the bay you can fish at night. i have caught many crabs at night. a good crab bait is two or three chicken necks tied to the bottom of a ttrap and  1 or 2 spot heads good luck
