  1. i would suggest

    barcelona-2.5

madrid- 3 (1 day to toledo / 1 day to segovia)

    valencia-1 / granada-1

btw, book the tickets in advance for la alhambra if u're going to granada

  2. You actually want at least two or three days for Madrid, five or more for Barcelona, and a couple for Valencia.  Granada, you can do in two days.  You can get away with a bare minimum in Barcelona of two days.

You need to figure your travel time, too.  You may be washed out on the first day.  Plan that in, too.

  3. I think Ayelle says it best.  When I visited Spain, we started in Madrid and took day trips to Segovia and Toledo before going south to Granada, Seville and Costa del Sol/Malaga.  We didn't get to Barcelona or Valencia - it was just a one week trip. Madrid needs 2-3 days minimum, not counting the day trips. Granada is an easy 1 day.  I've read up on Barcelona and am confident that I would need at least 3 days if I manage to get back to Spain someday.

  4. Concentrate on one city, possibly two. It could take a week just to take in Madrid. You can take a day trip from Madrid to Toledo, then another day a day trip to Segovia. Madrid itself with all it's history. If you decide to travel to different cities, you will be travelling instead of enjoying what you went to Spain to see.

I live here, enjoy your stay

  5. I can tell you now........... you will not get all these cities done in 1 week and enjoy it.

Just pick a couple in relative closeness to each other, for example a couple days in Valencia then spend the rest in Barcelona.

  6. Gosh that's going to be VERY difficult.  I'd say Madrid - 3, Barcelona - 2, Granada - 1, Valencia - 1.

Madrid - Prado Museum, Palacio Real de Madrid, Don Quijote, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, other museums, shopping

Barcelona - Sagrada Familia, shopping, beaches

Granada - The Alhambra, that's it.  Shopping I guess.  We also went to a flamenco thing.  Sorry I thought Granada was lame.

Valencia - The cathedral, the Hemispheric, eat chicken/rabbit paella, drink horchata

You REALLY need to consider putting at least 1 more week into your trip... I'd say if you could do this, add 1 more Madrid day, 2 more Barcelona, 1 Salamanca (The most BEAUTIFUL plaza mayor in all of Spain, old and new cathedrals, shopping), 1 Seville (Cathedral - this is a good one, Jewish quarter), 1 Toledo (cathedral, exploring this awesome walled city), 1 Segovia (Roman acquaduct, the Alcazar).

Even just 2 weeks isn't really enough, though... Spain is just too amazing.

    Have fun! :)

  7. I think 2-4 days.

    Have fun on holiday :)

  8. Barcelona, for party and Gaudi (Sagrada Familia etc.)

Not the beaches, whoever says they are good hasn´t been around Spain much!

Valencia has nice beaches, but the water isn´t too clean and the city itself is not really great.

Granada the must in Spain, because of the Alhambra and the Albacin, the Moorish influence and the history. The Alhambra is one of the most stunning sites in Europe.

Madrid is the capital and has great museums, the royal palace etc.

Depending if you are a party goer, or someone who likes to experience art and history, it´s you to decide.
