I will only have three or four more years to play, says Malinga – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SL-Malinga-c2540, the Sri Lankan fast bowler, has expressed that his physical fitness does not allow him to play Test cricket anymore and mentioned that he wants to play the limited-over sport for another three to four years.

The Islanders’ victory against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 this year remains their only Test series win in the last two years, with their bowling line-up struggling to get 20 wickets in a match.
There have been some media reports of late that the Lankan team management may ask Malinga to take part in the Test series against the Kangaroos but the 29-year-old cricketer has made it clear that he cannot bowl long spells anymore.
The cricketer from Galle thinks that the national team should invest in a younger speedster, instead of trying to have him back in the Test side.
He said, “I'm 29 now. I think I will only have three or four more years to play. I think going back to Tests now would be very difficult. I've been away from Tests for two years. I think it's much better for the team if a new bowler comes through.”
The naturally gifted pacer further added that a player can take part in international cricket for hardly a decade, although he has to let go a lot of things in life due to the professional sport. This is the reason why Malinga thinks that a cricketer should
thoroughly enjoy his stint at the ultimate level of the sport.
“As a cricketer, you have a shelf life. You sacrifice your education and any other line of work to play cricket. The best cricketers might play for 10 or 15 years; others might have only five or six years at the top,” he added.
The speedster has so far played 30 Tests, 131 One Day Internationals and 40 T20s for Sri Lanka, picking up more than 350 scalps at the ultimate level of the sport.
