Is that a good day to go? Will it be like a ghost town and all cafes closed? Thank you for an answer!

  1. I went to Itlay in November which is the slow season and was at Florence on a Sunday and there was still the market where you could by stuff for a coupple Euros. Florence was one of the nicest cities I've been to but if you want to relax go to Cinca Terra located in the north of Italy (about  1 hour train ride from Florence).  There are breath taking sights as you climb the mountains and you can look down 2,000 feet into the ocean.   It's really a relaxing place.  If you decide to go there's a pizza place in Vernazza that has the best pizza ever.

  2. i live in florence. fiesole is the hill of florence and it's a big square with some coffees and shops, open at sunday. there are also a museum and a church that i think will be open on sunday in june. enjoy! :oD

  3. Most will be open - Fiesole having turned quite touristy like Florence. Besides, the town is a great starting point for a hike (from the nearby Monte Ceceri, were Leonardo tested is flying machines)  - and you won't be dependent on opening hours for that. If you want to discover 'real' Italian life in Fiesole, go to the pizza night (every Sunday) in the 'casa del popolo', on the main road going uptown (5 mins walk from the main square). It is a great place - have a drink at least, as it has beautiful views and a terrace overlooking the hills. It's extremely cheap too, as it is a left-over from socialist/communist times in Italy .Formally, you must be a member, but they never ask.  On pizza-night (from 7.30 on), the place get packed with families. The food is nothing fancy, but the experience is worth it! (Go somewhere else if you are looking for a nice small romantic place though).

  4. June is a good period to go to Italy, but Sunday is not a good day to visit a town if you are looking for museums, you can visit churches, sure and cafes are definitely open

  5. The churches in Fiesole may be closed due to services.  Just something to keep in mind.
