Mm, im guessing r&b.

Stay on subject, you do not want to start singing about a breakup and end up talking about your car running him over.

Trust me, I've heard songs like this,and they're garbage.

Another tip is to find your home studio equipment, only if you have money time and space, unless a friend has a studio, but thats more money.

Practice practice practice, whether hiphop r&b rap rock punk screamo oldies country whatever! practice at all times.

Build vocabulary. noone wants to listen to a song that rhymes cat and hat and -at endings, but dont get to sophisticated, we would love to understand where you're coming from.

If rap, do not rap about money cars b*****s pimps hoes whatever.

thats terrible. and dont make up words like youl and have annoying hooks like ay bay bay or soulja boy up in this hoe. garbage.

find good people and friends who share the same interest,

collaborate and maybe you can make a hit song.

most important, be real, and speak from the heart.

make the words come from within.
