The Rossoneri forward has stated his desire for the two European powerhouses to meet in the final of the UEFA Champions League, not in the last eight of the competition.
The Milanello qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League with an aggregate win of 4-3 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
The tie was played at the Emirates Stadiums and was not as easy for the Milanese side as the score-line suggested.
Milan were made to work hard for the victory; their 4-0 lead going into the match was taken up as a challenge by the Gunners, who thwarted the Rossoneri with countless attacks. Arsene Wenger’s men were consequently
rewarded for their efforts as they went extremely close to the victory with a 3-0 win.
The result at the Emirates was a wakeup call for the Diavolo and they would be careful not to give into complacency.
The Argentine national felt that it would be fitting if the final took place between AC Milan and Barcelona, implying that it would be a final of the champions. He further remarked:
“I don’t want to face Barca or Real Madrid in the quarter-finals because they are in impressive shape right now. They are sides in great form.”
The striker further mentioned that he would like it if Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were to fight it out in the Champions League semi-final, and hoped Milan would pass through to the final. Reflecting on the
ideal possibility, he continued by mentioning:
“I’d like those two teams to face each other in the semi-final and then hope that we can take on Barca in the Munich Final. That would be perfect.”
