Saying goodbye is SO hard. As a birth parent, what do you wish the AP's would realize?

why?

  1. I wish they'd realize that I'm not theirs. I'm not a possesion. I had a mother before I was adopted. Please accept the fact that I now have 2 families, my birth family & my adoptive family.

  2. That we are both making the best of an unfortunate situation.  You wanted your own child, and didn't get him.  I wanted my own family, and lost out on that.

And the 'goodbye' is only temporary for ALL adoptees.  I found my mother at 22, and at 43 we are still in daily contact.

    It ain't ever OVER.
