You mean a bank card that only works in machines and not as switch etc? That has nothing to do wtih getting a phone. Just have some other ID with you, and your bank details and you will be fine.

I am currently on a contract with 02, and I only have a Maestro card. I do not think it matters what card you have as long as you can meet the payments each month. My advice would be to shop around for the best contract that suits you, and then if unsure, contact the company directly to make sure your card will be accepted for a direct debit payments.
