I won't be on much anymore........?

Until next year.....you'll see a lot of me in October and from then on. I'll be back with a new season....

My reason for leaving right now is my own problem....I can't handle listening to people talk about the Penguins/Wings.....I don't think I can handle listening to Detroit fans right now......And I know that sounds childish, but I can't. One of my ultimate fears is my team losing the the SCF's and I don't have a good feeling about this....especially after last night's poor performance that I listened to on the radio while camping. But yeah.....I'll be back with a fresh new season (or if the Pens surprise me and turn it around)

So farewell for now......if you'd like you can always email me....I'll always be checking that. If you want my email and don't have it just ask someone who does....I know Joe, Mikey, and Chris have it......

So, for my final question (for now) I'll give it to young Carey Price.......next year do you think Carey Price will be a top goaltender?

  1. Aw don't leave us kate!

We will miss you too much.

To answer the real question- yes.

  2. Kate, i joined your wagon and had to sit next to some fat PB only to see you leave now!?!?  What is this nonsense?

Don't even worry about it Kate.  Funny thing about playoffs is, its never an easy ride is it?  Its great when your team continues to advance each round but along with them moving on, comes more pressure to win.  Its easy for me to be relaxed because i'm more of a fan watching from the outside now.  God knows i was feeling the same fears and bad feelings when the Sharks were playing the Stars and even during the Flames series.  But yes, people in this section can be a bit hostile.  Lotta trash talking coming out of the woodworks which really is a bit premature.  Its only ONE game for goodness sakes.  Playoffs aren't decided by one game.  So hang in there and enjoy the Cup Finals.  I'd gladly trade places with you and have the Sharks in there and deal with the c**p on here than having to worry about who our next coach is.  Hopefully you'll still drop in during the Finals because I really enjoy you around here but if not, enjoy your summer!

Price will be a great goaltender......

  3. i shall try to email you if/when the pens win - to celebrate living in Pittsburgh and having an awesome team!

  4. WOW...my team the Bruins got slammed in here but still battled to a game 7. This is the best sport around hands down so don't leave yet. As far as Price goes.....he's beatable and has alot to work on his game. We have a young goalie down in Providence that might open some eyes around the NHL soon. Either way...I can't wait until October myself. Good luck to your team.

  5. don't go =(

ignore what people say, i don't read half the rubbish (sorry! stuff) people come up with

the Penguins lost game 1 (so? find a team that wouldn't have lost it) stick around, read the things that people you know are not going to be homers and let us know what you think

    please stay

to answer your question, yes, he should be

  6. bye! come back with some more great questions next season!

and i do think he will be a top goaltender

  7. Kate the bear's about to deliver the tv so you and Mike can enjoy game2 tomorrow .. don't let me down chiquita

  8. I can understand that. You're team had a great first 3 rounds, but then you're team lost. But it was only one game, don't worry (They are the Penguins!) they will bounce back. They will be in great shape if they can win tomorrow.

I got he11a annoyed when Dallas Stars fans were talking **** about the Sharks during the 2nd round. So I know how you are feeling.

But you don't have to push the panic button about the Pens yet...not at all. Let me think...the Penguins have lost a total of 0 games at home during the playoffs. That means that one win on the road could do it. Even tough it will be tough to beat Detroit 3 times at home they can do it!

To answer your question: I know Price will do great next year and I guess he could very much be in the All Star game in MTL next year.

    Will miss you Kate!

  9. Well, we'll miss you around here.  Hopefully you'll come back before October...I don't know if I can go that long without your questions!

  10. Aww, it won't be as fun without you. I think Carey Price will be better than this past season but he won't be as good as he will be in the future.

  11. Aw, Kate, don't leave for good... I totally understand, though, I felt the same way about Caps fans when the Canes got knocked out of the playoffs - I was completely hurt and frustrated by their comments. But you folks told me to stick around and I've had a pretty good time. Give the Pens a chance - it's only the first game and that doesn't always determine the outcome of the series - quite the contrary. One game at a time!

  12. ahhhh man! See you for training camp then. or maybe the draft.

ps  it's round 2 of w/e Scott or Teemu will retire.

  13. you are just like the Pens, they are on their way out  till next season too. see you then...oh am I one of those Wings fans?

It's just a game,I remember the Wings getting swept in the finals, and the razzing we took . all in fun-sorry - take a break get away from the pressure and recharge for next year,

  14. With a full season to play and no worry of a top goalie (Kolzig not coming back) around to step in for him should he faulter, it is time for Price to step up in his 1st full year in Wash.  The Cap's are on the rise.  You will see a better Wash. team next year now that they got a taste of the SC Playoffs.  There will be less and less domination by teams over the next several years, where any team will have a chance to win. There will be more parity in the near future NHL.  (Teams and records will be more even)

    THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

Although, I'm probably guilty of offending some of you, especially Pens fans, please don't take any of this stuff personal. it's the nature of the beast, especially when you have 2 teams and 2 cities competing for the greatest trophy,  in the greatest sport in the world!  It is extremely competitive and you should stay and show your support!  Of course I want the Wings to win. I also want to see a continuously fast and furious final, like we saw last night. May the best team, not city win, as we now Detroit is not in such good graces across the country due to neg. press etc.

  15. I'm sorry i dont know you at all. I dont think im any reason for you leaving, but have fun! Price has got a chance ;)

  16. Very disappointed to hear that :(

I can't handle the talk either, im ignoring most of it,

    very scared for our team...

    Hopefully things can turn around.

    GO PENS GO!

  17. Kate, I don't blame you! Your team is in the finals - enjoy the moment!

    GO pens.

KATE - Do you plan on getting tickets? Do you have a Yahoo IM?

KATE - Oh, alright. I'd suggest go to Mellon Arena and stand outside if you're not gonna get tickets. At least be there.

  18. aww don't leave! WE'LL MISS YOU!!!

answer: yes, he will be a top goalie

  19. I cant blame you.  Im getting sick of some of the posts Ive been seeing, even if they are about my team..

  20. Peace out

  21. Red Wings Fans think its gonna be a sweep but it wont. The Pens kill when there at home! I don't think Carey will be the next top goaltender, its just one of those feelings. DONT LEAVE BECUASE OF THE IGNERANT WINGS FANS! :**(

    GO PENS!

    ~I love Sidney Crosby!

  22. NOOOOO!!!  you're one of my favorite people here!

I'll definitely try to email you... but come back in 2-3 weeks, the finals will be over and most of the trolls will be gone.

EDIT:  Well, that definitely doesn't hurt. :).  No... you're just one of the people I get in discussions with the most.  I enjoy that.

  23. have a nice summer!

    and yes he will

  24. Now you know what it's like being a Leafs fan!

  25. Well Kate, I personally will not be biased, nor will I rub anything in should the Wings win the Stanley Cup. I know this won't help you, but at least one Wings fan will be kind to you.

I might be leaving Y!A soon, due to personal issues. I may not even leave at all, but if I do, it could be for a day, a week, a month, a year, or I may never return. Hopefully, things will turn around for me here.

Honestly, about Carey Price, I think he could be a bust now. He made too many rookie mistakes in the playoffs, and I think that will really hurt him in the long run.

  26. we will all miss you kate!!

to answer your question yes he will

  27. That's sad Kate. We're much better off with you around. All team allegiances aside, and the subsequent razzing that goes on, we are still a community that is the sum of ALL its parts.

If you need a break, that's understandable. I usually burn out after 6 months or so and get into something else for a while.

We'll keep the light on for you.

I think Carey Price is a top goalie. The Habs - like the Flyers - need their defensemen to be at the top of their game in order to win, especially in the playoffs. Granted, a goalie is PART of a team, but he has what it takes as long as he doesn't let the pressure cooker of a sports environment get to him in Montreal.

I hear the hockey media there isn't very forgiving on the players when the team isn't meeting expectations.

  28. Sad to see you leave :(

Can't wait for you to return! =)

    You will be missed.

  29. I'm a Red Wings fan and I agree w/ you. The stuff that was on here this AM was awful. Of course some of the stuff earlier this week from Pens fans was no better. But that's no reason to quit YA if it's someplace you like to be. YA needs more posters like you rather than the trolls and haters.

Don't worry about the Pens. IF they lose, they will most likely be back. The last 4 Wings seasons (excluding the lockout) have been extremely disappointing for me, you'll get over it.

As far as Price, it's too early to tell. He had a great year and you would assume he will continue. But then we've seen a number of flash-in-the-pans over the last several years too.

add on: I was very active on here last year, w/ all the vitriolic Sabre's fans. I even managed to pick up a stalker. He was the most foul mouthed jerk I ever encountered, he stalked ALL my answers and questions. I stayed away for a long time early this season, but then I said to myself, hey this is BS, I'm not going to let some jerk ruin my fun!

  30. Sweetheart,

You shouldn't leave for that reason.

Some people are jerks. Thats just the way they are.

The Penguins rock and by getting off you aren't

cheering on your team to the people you need to be.

    Example:

Some cocky Detroit fan gets on and starts bragging like

crazy about how well they did commenting on how the Penguins are sucky etc..

Thats when you get on a say.

"And when we(the penguins) win, watch me laugh.

    :D"

Don't let these people get you down.

Stay on and root for the team you love with the rest of us.

    Hope the best,

    Lydia(:

  31. It is pretty sad the way some people have resorted to name-calling.   Makes me feel like I'm at home with my kids though and not at work (sniff sniff).
