I'm sketchy about this. I know i didnt enter the contest. I think a relative entered me. But here goest the story. Yestarday i was at work. Sitting at my desk. I get a phone call from a lady who claimed to be with some company. She asked for me by name. I assured her that is whom she was speaking with. She went on to tell me that i had won a 5 day cruise to nassu, bahamas. Everything paid for. My eats drinks accomidations ect.. What struck me about it was. She didnt ask for a credit card number, Didn't tell me they was any fees i needed to pay for right then, but the only thing she said after explaining it was she would call back tomarrow or the next day and make arrangements for me to pick up my tickets. How legit does this sound? I thought it sounded good, but maybe to good to be true. PS: The call registered an 800 number from Hawaii.

  1. scam. she's baiting you for a hard sell on the next call. I haven't seen cruise "tickets" for 20 years. When you book and pay, you are given a receipt with a booking number you then use to check in to the ship. I do it online. Anyway, the only other thing is your travel agent sends cruise docs, which are just alot of FAQs and info, plus luggage tags with your cabin number you can print out and use if you like.

I hope this is just a ship papering empty cabins. It sounds more like a time share company wanting you to show up for a presentation.

  2. I think you will find out when you go to pick up the tickets. Good for you for being skeptical and careful. If they ask for any fees or credit card, then you all ready know what to do.

  3. Man this is a hard one, just go pick up the tickets and ask for more info, I mean yeah it sounds to good to be true, or maybe ask the person who put your name in there? But if theres no catch go with it Bro.

  4. A lot of cruise companies do something similiar to this to fill up the empty rooms.  Generally they will tell you that you are responsible for the port fees and taxes though.  The cruise lines would rather give someone a free room on the boat and hope that person spends lots of $ on booze, gambling, etc - than have the room empty, because that gets them no where.  I would be a little skeptical, since there are scams everywhere, but I suspect that it is probably the real deal.

  5. If you asked her if there 's a catch and she said no, then go get the "tickets" jsut bring someone with you. It sounds like its a time share selling opportunity to me, but you never know. Worth a shot! good luck and I hope its a free cruise!
