I won a prize ..need some help ?

Hi All - i hope you all can reply to this right away ! I live in Toronto - it's now sunday afternoon and I just received a phone call from a company called "Club Par Excell" - they said that they have picked my name ( that i filled out) for a ballot thing and I have won one of six prizes ...she told me the list of prizes and all i have to do is tomorrow night ..my hubby and i must bring photo I.D - sit and listen to a talk for 90 minutes and pick out our prize ...they even gave me a claim prize code ...I really want to know if this is a scam ???? I dont want to travel all the way there to find out that i need to pay or sign up for something !! Please help

  1. If you never signed up for it, then it's a scam.  plain and simple.  


  2. They are trying to sell you something and they are good.  Since they were not specific about what you "won" I wouldn't go at all.

  3. call them for extra info about them its probably a scam but even if you filled out a ballot it still might be a scam i recommend that you call them to see if its a real company or search the company online and see what comes up! good luck :) oh wait i just searched it there is no such thing its a SCAM stay away from them its a lie.

  4. Not necessarily a scam, but the way a lot of advertising/ballot schemes work is that they get you to sign up to win something to get your personal info.  Than they entice you in by saying you 'won' something.  Yeah, you'll get the prize, but the presentation will be an extremely hard sell for a timeshare, MLM plan, etc.
