It's been 10 days since i won a book (from the 1960s) on EBay. Tried e-mails with the seller and they do not respond. Seller is called: OldVinyl4u, they are in Colorado. I got sellers contact info. from EBay and called the telephone number- all i get is a mobile text message recording or something. EBay is no help!! I contacted EBay Online Live Help and they give me the run around saying they are not DIRECTLY involved with the buyer and seller-they are repititious and dont answer anything. When i go to EBay DISPUTE CONSOLE they ask for PayPal passwords. I BOUGHT THIS BOOK USING MY REGULAR CREDIT CARD. The seller has paypal. How do i file a dispute if i dont use paypal? Any help?? thanks

  1. eBay has a link on the listing where you can report "item not received".  You can file a claim.  Keep in mind with a book, they probably sent it "media mail" and that can take a few weeks because it is cheap, but slow.

ALWAYS use Paypal, it is the only thing that offers protection.

  2. This ebay seller looks ok, has positive feedback of 98.5%.

I think this seller might not have this item in-stock, that is why he is troubling you.

I would recommend you to handle this situation peacefully, by emailing him first.

Then if he doesn't reply you will have to play this game.

Tell him that your interested to buy more items(expensive), ask him to give you a better deal, in mean while pitch for tracking information for your item.

NOTE:- ALWAYS PAY THROUGH PAYPAL, FILING DISPUTES THROUGH PAYPAL IS EASY AND IT IS VERY TO GET OUR MONEY BACK.

    Hope this helps you.

    ALL THE BEST!!!

  3. The user has a 98% rating, give it time, you will get the book.  Suppose to allow 2 weeks.

  4. Your seller has a history of slow shipping and not replying to emails.

I wouldn't be freaking out after 10 days. His listings do say that he ships Media Mail. Wait another 20 days before taking any action. Media Mail can easily take 2-3 weeks sometimes a month. If you still haven't received it, then you need to see your options. It doesn't matter if you paid with paypal or not: If you paid with a credit card there is always a way to file a dispute. Call your credit card company at that point and do the dispute.

  5. You need to chill out.  Your book is most likely in transit.  If you bought a book it was probably shipped "Media Mail" and so that takes the longest of all shipping methods.  However, it is the most inexpensive way to ship books.  10 days is not long enough to wait for your book.  Don't panic and stop sending emails to the seller.  It's way too early to file a dispute with the seller.  Read the Ebay rules and regulations.

Next time if you want something shipped sooner then contact the seller and pay the extra money to have it shipped USPS Priority Mail.

  6. If you used your credit card to purchase this, you have nothing to worry about.  Give it a few extra days, and if you still have not received anything, simply call your credit card company (the phone number is on the back of your credit card that you used) and dispute the transaction.

Your credit card company will need some information such as date of purchase, amount, and the reason for the dispute and thats it.  You will not be help responsible for that charge and they will perform a chargeback on them.  Some credit card issuers will send you a form to fill out to validate the dispute, but you definitely will not be held responsible for the charge if you do not receive your item.
