I won some fish from a carnival?

Hello! I just won 4 small fish. They don't fight at all. They're in a medium sized container that some dolls used to be in for now. We are going to get a medium sized tank, some rocks, and I'm looking for a different food.

Could anyone give me tips on what food to give them, and if I should buy a filter? Please don't say they will die, because almost everyone I know has a story about 7-year living fair fish. Thanks!

Well i fed my fair fish bread crumbs until i had a chance to buy their fish food(the pet store can help you choose which kind)

and as far as the filter i would suggest to invest in one, because that way your fish will be happier and you won't have to change the water and clean the tank as often.

You didn't say what type of fish they are so I can only assume they are either goldfish or siamese fighting fish.  You said they don't fight, so I'm wondering if they are siamese fighting fish.  If they are, they need to be in separate tanks, and yes, they will fight...eventually.  If they are just plain goldfish, you don't have to worry about separating them.  Goldfish pretty much get along with anything.

As for the tank and food, go to your pet store and ask them what you should get.  Food is pretty general, but there are some foods designed for specific fish, but it's usually the exotics.  As for the tank...well, that's up to you if you want a filter, but they do help in keeping the tank oxygenated as well as keeping the fish happy.  Just ask someone at the pet store for help.
