I won the lottery..?

Question

2.8 million dollars.

I don't know what to do.

I don't want to spend it, I just want to save it.

am I crazy?

was this after taxes???  don't tell any one but get to a bank and put it into some 3, 6 & 12 month cds.  the lottery should of put you in contact with financial advisors.  invest in tax free bonds. splurg $10k to get it out of your sysytem. go get the new or near new car.  live off the interest and go on vacations

You are not crazy.  I would suggest some sound investment.  Contact a financial advisor as well as an accountant to look at your options and potential tax consequences.  As an insurance agent, I would also suggest you look at some annuity options.  Also, I recommend that you contact your agent to increase your liability limits and also obtain a personal umbrella policy to protect these newly aquired assets.  

Other options  would be placing various amounts in trusts if you have children or grandchildren.  Your attorney can assist you with this.

LOL this isn't the right place to be asking financial advice hon.  Best thing to do is go to a bank that does lots of investing and ask them, or ask around for a good adviser who won't try to sell you "his" financial products.  If he does or if the bank tries to, leave and go someplace where you can get objective financial advice then take that advice to someone who knows and get an oppinion from them.  Be careful with the money, keep most of it for yourself.

invest some kinda way. with the economy the way it is it wont be worth much in a little while. just enough to buy groceries

Tell no one.  After you collect your winnings, go to your bank and inquire about CD's.  A 3 month CD and you will be good.
