I wonder if you can actually win a contest?

My mom says that nothing is free and that the contest is just taking money and not giving anything back. There is an energizer battery competition and my mom says not to bother entering because she says the company is cheating the contestants. Is this true? Is there any chance I'll win or is it just a hoax? Are all contests just a hoax to get your money or are there real prizes??? I am confused now

I've actually won things and I've known some folks who have won things.

I have a friend who won $100,000 in the Cash Five lottery game.

I've won $800 twice.

My brother won a bike when we were kids.

I've won headphones at a basketball game.

Don't expect to win the Energizer contest, but go ahead and enjoy the chance and MAYBE you will!!!!!

Your Mom may be right about some contests though. Moms are pretty smart sometimes.

I'm in a raffle now for a motorcycle and I just found out that, if I win, I still have to pay the taxes on it. It's better than having to pay for the entire bike, but it's kinda cheap in my opinion to say you're giving away a motorcycle only to make the 'winner' pay for some of it.
