  1. i think their trying to say that the child picked up things/habits they've never seen a child do.

    when you use the word such it's usually used as an indicator or suggestion

  3. This is not a coherent sentence.  Perhaps the writer meant to say "Certainly she had ways about her, such as I had never seen in a child before."  If that's the case, then the sentence would mean that the child presented herself and acted in an unchildlike way.

  4. I think it means that this child that's being spoken of has a character that is unlike a child, or unfitting for a child.  

  5. She had certain mannerisms which he had never seen in a child.

  6. She did things most children don't think of doing.
