  1. In your car, you have to drain the fluid and drop the pan to change the filter.  A flush won't hurt but do you think it is cost effective?  I change autotx fluid and filter every 60K mi.

  2. You said the trans was rebuilt so it cares not what the odometer reading is.  That AOD model transmission fluid should be changed every 25-30k miles.  A flush is not the best idea if it does not include changing the filter as well.

  3. If the transmission is still shifting good, have the fluid replaced along with a new transmission filter. I'd forget about the transmission flush.

  4. I think you have to flush the transmission in order to change the filter.

  5. its usually no to good of an idea to have one flushed out at the high of mileage,i have seen it cause problems,id just have the fluid and filter changed in it and let it go at that, your very lucky to have made it that long in that transmission, that would be up to you though, but from my experience it sometimes creates problems, good luck.

  6. a drain and fill with filter replacement is different than a flush.  if the car has not been flushed every 30-45 K at this point flushing will do more harm than good.  but a drain and fill can only help.  it wont harm the car and will help it.

  7. How old's the tranny?

If it's a pretty new transmission go for the flush.

If it's an older tranny just drop the pan and change the fluid that way.

Transmission flush on an older tranny can send gunk into small channels in your transmission and cause failure.

Flushing in general is debated as to whether or not it's good for any car.
