I work a 6 day week but my employer says they only pay holiday pay for 5 day weeks?

so if i want to take a week off work, i have to loose a days pay. can anyone tell me if this is right?

Holiday pay is up to the employer.  There is no state law, at least here in CA, that says an employer must pay holiday pay.  You would need to check with HR to see what the company policy is.  If the company where you work is too small for an HR department, you could ask your boss for the pay policy in writing.

there are not many good EMPLOYEE law's sadly

all laws usually apply to EMPLOYER rights

as such manditory overtime doesnt allow you to have holiday nor PTO paid behond 40 hours /8 hours intervals which ever is applicable
