I work at a restaurant that has a Friday fish fry and people always ask what the difference beer battered and breaded fish. I know what the difference is (what I like more) but how should I describe it.

Breaded, is a drier coat, beer battered wet. I prefer breaded. Live here in Florida, so cook lots of fish.

Beer battered is actually battered in beer. Breaded fish is dipped in a special breading mixture. Hope I Helped.

i would say that while both are fried so both are greasy, the beer batter is a thicker denser and sometimes heavier coating..
