I work for a company in one state and it was bought by a comp. in another ,can I loose my unused vacation time

I work in California and my company has been bought by a Michigan company, They say if I don't use my accrewed vacaction time , I will loose it . Is this true? I have 4 weeks to use before 12/31/08.

if that is their rule, yeah - just take your vacation - my company doesn't allow you to roll over any vacation into the next year either

Go through your company's rules for paid vacations. If not clear, consult with experienced college for clarification.

Vacations are generally not allowed to be carried forward by most of the companies. I think, you should avail it at the right place and at the right time of your use.
