I work in VT and my employer on 12/26/07 told me i must work 12/29/07 or lose my holiday pay, can they do this

there is so much of out sourcing being done by every one , private, government or semi government, corporates, to get jobs faster and economically. this has created lot unemployment in many parts of the world. there are persons like u who hesitate or grumble to work if requested or threatened are responsible for this out sourcing..... let all of us think and think and think......

Yep they can.  Many companies have a policy that you must work the day before and the day after a holiday to be paid for the holiday.
