  1. Here are some ideas:

Ask parents to have kids bring a white shirt (Does not have to fit child) to school. Then, you being the teacher, cut a sponge into 4 different shapes. Also prepare paint. When the kids have their white shirts, they can lay it on the table and grab one of the shaped sponges and put a few stamps on the shirt.

Since it's the season of autumn, you with the kids, can take a trip outside to the play area and ask each of them to pick up one leaf. Back inside the building, they can trace that leaf on a piece of white paper. Then, you could help them cut it out, or they will cut it out by themselves. They will glue on tissue paper (preferably fall colors) onto their leaf-shaped paper with your help.

  2. here is a website with some ideas...but they are Halloween activities...

  3. Some of the more popular ideas when I was teaching that age:

--Marble painting.  Put paper on a tray, pour paint on it, and put marble(s) into the tray.  The children move the tray around rolling the marbles all over the paper, thus spreading the paint around.

--Car painting - similar to above except you use matchbox type cars (and it's easier if they just roll them like they normally would).  Try to find some with different types of wheels so the children can expiriment with them and make a few different designs.

--Shaving Cream on the table.  This is always fun and really easy to clean up.  Put shaving cream on the table, put an apron on the kids, and let them go at it.  Add food coloring to make it more interesting.  Then add two colors of food coloring to have them combine them and see what color it makes.  Nothing to take home...except a good story.

--Cut out colored shapes while watching TV. Do it a few days in the week and you'll have quite a bit (if you watch as much TV as I do).  When you have enough, just take them in with some paper and glue.  Have them glue the shapes onto the paper.

Another good idea is to go to the thrift store and buy old shirts and pants.  Maybe you can even get your parents to donate some.  With that, you can do more painting that will remain permanent.  (Make sure they take off their shoes too...don't want paint all over them.  No matter how many times we tell parents to not dress up their kids in clothes they don't want dirty, it never sinks in and you'll be the one taking the heat).  Once they have that on, they can use markers or paints to design their own T-Shirt.

I like this one from a web site:

    CRAFT MATERIALS:

    Washable, nontoxic tempera paint

    Cookie sheet

    2 large pieces of paper

    Cotton swabs, plastic utensils

    Time needed: Under 1 Hour

    1. To start, ask your child to squeeze blobs of washable nontoxic tempera paint onto a cookie sheet.

    2. Lay a large piece of paper on top of the paint and have her smooth it down with the palms of her hands. Lift off the paper, then lay the print flat to dry.

    3. Next, encourage your tot to make designs with her fingers, a cotton swab, or a plastic utensil in the smooth surface of the paint that remains on the cookie sheet. Lift off additional prints on clean sheets of paper. You can add more paint as desired.

I found that by googling.  Here's a link to google's "Toddler art projects" pages.  Worth looking through:

Enjoy it.  That's a fun age.
