I work in a patent office, and I rarely see female inventors. Why?

The ratio of male to female patents is so astoundingly shifted that it's hard to believe that it is mostly due to social factors. What can account for this difference?

  1. Maybe it's just the "patent office" that you work in.

    Maybe they like the one across town better.


  2. Because of sexism, women were not allowed to do anything and old times

  4. men have higher IQ, women have higher EQ. patents require IQ

  5. Men are more inclined to mechanical thinking.

    Women can do this but it bores them rather quickly.

  6. Because they're too busy trying to reinvent their men all the time...
