  2. if you have never done any family support you could start by volunteering = perhaps with a charity like Homestart or at a Sure Start Children's Centre.

I am a family support manager at a childrens centre and all my workers have to have at least an NVQ 3 qualification and preferably a degree - most people applying in the last round of applications did have a degree and most have experience of family support already - usually be volunteering or thorugh ChildLine/charities etc

Def get some experience and if you can find any courses that apply to family support that you can take - take them.

There are lots of agencies that use volunteers - many thaqt work with young children and need big brothers/sisters!

  3. Dress up like a chicken and come to work, and run around screaming has anyone seen my wiener????

  4. Try learndirect or ask at your local job centre or careers advice place. They will be able to find the right course if you need to go on one, and maybe a placement for you?

    Good Luck :)
