  1. yes and if you have not had training on the equipment then you can refuse to use it, also you can refuse to lift without the correct equipment


  2. Yes he as well as yourself, has a duty off care to provide adequate training and facilities.You need to read the health and safety at work act.

  3. Definetely. Ask your employer what training will be provided and what the lifting equipment is. if you are asked to use any equipment without training and supervision refuse to do so. this may take gentle explaining to the client in the care home, but it is for their safety and yours.

    If you are not getting training try writing to your employer, but i know that is easier said then done if you are afraid about keeping your job.

  5. By law working with children's or old people, you should at least have a N.V.Q basic training from your manager, or past education or work.

    But where you work now its your managers responsibility.
