and wash the floors and what a lot of floors, my question is, how do I prevent getting blisters on my hands from holding these heavy items? Your tips is appreciated:)

Your hands will adapt but if the handles are wood then get some very find sand paper and sand the rough edges off.  Gloves also work wonders.  You can put cotton gloves under your cleaning gloves.

gloves or take some foam and tape it to mop and take it off when your done
