  1. In our house, we take an hour or so on Saturday and clean the common areas of the house.  Everyone works.  It goes fast.  The kids take turns during the week doing dishes.  The wash gets done but I'm not sure how.

  2. There are no hard, fast rules. You have to see what is best for your family regarding schedules. I would suggest making a list of the things that need to be done on a daily and weeky basis. Talk to your husband about what works best for each of you. Also, if your kids are in school, they are old enough to do some chores like taking out trash, setting and clearing the table, sorting laundry. Older ones can actually do laundry, load and unload the dishwasher, take care of pets, help with yard work. You aren't making little slaves out of them. You are teaching them the value of being a responsible part of the family unit. If everyone chips in, there is more time to do fun things as a family.

  3. Do most/some of the chores when your kids are in school, then when they come home, have them do some.

  4. you do all of them because youre the woman

  5. Between yourselves or between the kids?

  6. Be sure the kids are involved in doing some of the chores.   There's no reason even a five-year-old can't do some simple jobs around the house.

We have a "chore chart" on the fridge.   Some chores are done every day (setting the table, clearing the table, loading/emptying the dishwasher, feeding pets, scooping kitty litter, etc.).   Some things happen a few times a week (laundry) and others just once a week (lawn mowing).

  7. Same thing my hubby and I do - When someone see's something needs to be done, they do it.

  8. Put a Calendar on the fridge.  Each week have everyone do something different.  Maybe on Saturday mornings the whole family spends an hour cleaning the house, everyone being dedicated to one room.

  9. This is just like my house. Since I am the oldest I get the most responsibility and chores. I feed the animals and do the dishes, stuff my brothers can't do. I suggest you figure out which jobs can be done by who and then teach the chores you don't have time for to the kid who is most likely to do the job. You can always change the jobs around.
