Question:

I work really early in the morning and i had a few questions that maybe some of you could help me out with.

I work in a Bakery 5 am to 10 am i work very hard and I'm very tired all the time. i get up go to work, when i get home i cant help but fall asleep, i sleep until 3 usually , then i have school at 4 till 9, i get home at ten and by the time im done showering, laundry, cleaning etc all the stuff i need to do its 12:30 then i sleep and start all over. My question is, is there a better way for me to not feel so tired after work so that i dont need to nap because i waste half my day sleeping and also i dont have a regular eating pattern and its s******g with my metabolism i cant eat at work or school so i eat like twice a day and once is late at night (which i hear your not supposed to do). So bottom line Im tired, irritable, hungry and somehow gaining weight since i got this job (which i actually like alot) so how can i adjust my habits to alleviate some of these problems?

  2. Try rearranging your household duties. Do laundry one day, clean kitchen and bathroom another day, etc. I've found that since I've been going to the fitness center I'm not tired and don't need a nap. I think if you got 8 hours of sleep at night, you would feel better and not need to sleep in the day. Retrain yourself.

  3. you are averging only 9 hrs sleep total;, which would be enough for a day, if you diden;t have to split it up. when you get home at 10 in the morning;, do your housework then. then lay down for a 2 hour nap. take a multivitiam and eat when you get back up. this way--you can go to sleep earlier at night when you get home from school. munch on a banana for potassium-when you get sleepy in the daytime. omce you get in this routine, you will feel more rested and less irritable. good luck.

  4. Sure. Your night time is cut in half, so you're sleeping during the day. Take a great multivitamin with juice (helps them absorb better!) before you go to sleep, at night, not in the day. I recommend Geritol, as they make the best vitamins for the babies and the elderly. (have the most in them!)Take one with iron!  Eat several small meals, as your body will think it's a whole meal and burn as many calories, every time you eat.

    You probably do need the sleep, but try to limit so much by setting your alarm for 2 hours. 4 hours is when R.E.M. starts, so you're waking up just as it starts, making you feel you need more sleep.

    When you stop eating regularly, your metabolism stops burning regularly, holds everything. Even a piece of fruit or 2 every hour, will help you and help your system. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. good luck!
