I woud like to go to Costa Rica on vacation for a week, but don't want to spend a lot. Any suggestions?

I have about 1K to spend. but don't want to spend more....I know that the jungle tours and hotels, etc..can be very expensive....any suggestions. I have never been there before....

This should be no problem in Costa Rica!  We went there for our Honeymoon and stayed in what the guide book called the top end hotels...all of them were great, unique, and only about $100 a night.  So I can only imagine what a great deal you can get on the mid to low range!!  Have fun :)

Costa Rica is so cheap, and naturally beautiful. Don't worry about the money.

Maybe save a little bit more money up and go with a tour group. I went to Costa Rica for 9 days 8 nights back in November for $1300. It was all inclusive.

I spent 10 days travelling around Costa Rica about 3 years ago.  Between the plane ticket and travelling expenses I spent under $900.  I recommend buying the lonley planet guide to Costa Rica.  It was a great resource and I had it with me throughout my travels.

It is very inexpensive to eat there and cheap accomodations are easily found.
