  1. a sense of adventure , a sense of humour , a warm coat good walking shoes and an open mind . everything else you can get here [food , toiletries , etc.]

  2. Light clothes, plenty of money, and if you're bringing anything electrical, a plug adaptor or two. (If you're from India you won't need a voltage converter or anything like that)

As far as personal care stuff (or for that matter food if you're the homesick type), it's probably best to leave anything at home, and buy here. It can sometimes be hard to tell what Customs will let you bring in, and they're usually pretty strict.

  3. depends on what part of Aus you are going too, if north, mainly clothes for warm weather, if south, prepare for a bit of cooler weather. Make sure you have sunblock and insect repellant. Hope you enjoy.

  4. Any medications you might need - make sure you bring script with you so you can bring into the country.

But pretty much everything you want, you can get here - clothes, food, toilettries, books, etc.  There are plenty of asian food stores around, you should be able to buy asian newspapers at really big newsagents, etc.

In October - Sydney, it should be reasonably warm.  But bring a light coat or jacket in case of a snap of cold weather.  Good walking shoes.  A big smile.  Maybe a guide book on Australia, but you can buy them here.

Please note that you generally can't bring wood or foodstuffs here, because we have strict quarantine laws, to protect our flora & fauna.
