Last summer during my family's vacation I had a dream one night at one of the motels we stayed at about me walking into my old workplace (KFC) in the middle of the day, that I quit from at the end of last september for a lot better job. As I walked in, all my friends whom were employed there at the time (Basically the whole crew) just simply ignored me. Like I was just another customer that they had never met. As I asked them, "How'd they do without me?", Michael Kelso (That 70's Show), standing behind the counter dressed in a KFC uniform tells me, "Horrible". Now I worked for KFC for over 3 and a half years and during that time the company took advantage of me pretty badly lets just say that I was super glad that I was given this other job opputunity and for the last 5 years I've been working on, taking my time during my free time on a personal project of mine, my first film script which I am hoping to get Ashton Kutcher (Michael Kelso) to play as one of the two main characters.

  2. I am guessing that you've been out of touch with the crew. You wanted to go back as though the job really stunk like a rotting corpse in the hot, humid summer heat, the people you worked with were your real friends. You miss the crew because there was something in common. You all slagged away in the same mosh pit together. You both worked hard for the same task masters that stripped you of your dignity and subjected you to capitalisticly driven humiliations.

You didn't work for a chicken vender, you worked for a company that pulled beaks off of chickens and forced you to sell their fried carcasses to future sufferers of heart disease and cancer.

Yes, my friend, you miss the crew because THEY were real and your Hollywood world is a dream.

And now, in your dream, they snub you because you left them behind to suffer and toil silently as you moved on to a better writing career.

Getting Ashton Kutcher to play one of your main characters may require going through his significant other: Demi Moore. Now THAT's a tough call.

  3. you probale feel like no on eseems like they needed you or wanted you arround to help but you actually really cared about what you do

  4. id say that u were thinking about your old job and everyone there and since you said you want ashton to play one of your main characters he was in your dream too.

  5. Hi Dave, well, I like to make people happy, so I will give it a go:)

Looking over this imagery, and your explanations, it just seems to me that you have covered a lot of ground in the five years since you've left KFC, to a point of becoming a different person altogether, as the crew doesn't recognize you as one of their own, I think it's a reflection that you just simply aren't the same person anymore.  You say that they took great advantage of you then, yet five years later you have some pretty ambitious projects you're working on, it sounds like the opportunity you have been working in since leaving KFC has brought out a lot of good things in you, and increased your confidence quite a bit as you have gained in five years experience and competence in a job that is clearly much better for you, and this increase in competence and experience has you thinking big things for your future. That Ashton Kutcher takes your old place behind the counter may be symbolic of the plans that have replaced your old life there.... As Kelso in that 70's show, I could certainly see the character of Kelso winding up somewhere saying "Do you want fries with that?" You just plain aren't that guy anymore :)  Good luck....

Edit:  Oops, just re-read your question, you've been working on your project for 5 years, and just quit KFC last september, I will still stand by the rest of it, that you are feeling more confident and optimistic.....
