The centre-back claims that he would accepted a point against Tottenham before the game and that Manchester United were unlucky to concede a late goal on Sunday.
United may not be firing on all cylinders defensively, but the club have a solid attack that has come good for them in the last few weeks.
Robin Van Persie’s magnificent performances have earned plaudits from everyone in the Premier League and the Dutchman was unsurprisingly the one who handed the lead to the Reds at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham looked rejuvenated in the second half and battled well in the middle of the park, leading to an eventual equalizer from Clint Dempsey in injury time.
Although the hosts deserved the draw, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 was bundled over by Steven Caulker in the penalty area, but the referee failed to signal for a spot kick.
Speaking to reporters, the defender claimed that overall the match had been far from pleasing for the 19-time English champions but they were still relieved to come out with a share of the points.
“The way the game panned out was disappointing. We defended for our lives as a team and got a really good goal through Robin, so it’s disappointing in that sense. But we’ve done that [scored late] to so many other teams in the past, sometimes you just have
to take that on the chin.”
Ferdinand also cast his opinion on the penalty claim and reiterated that Rooney deserved a penalty, especially as the decision cost them two points in the Premier League title race.
"One hundred per cent, it was a penalty. I can’t believe he didn’t give it. The linesman didn’t really help us on that side [of the pitch] at all during the second half. We’re disappointed the referee didn’t give what was a stonewall penalty. You want to
get the difficult games out of the way, and this is one of them. A lot of teams will drop points here,” Ferdinand was quoted as saying.
