The Spanish international has looked back at his time with the Gunners, asserting that he would have loved to stay there if it wasn't for his boyhood club, Barcelona.
Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he was having a great time with his former club, Arsenal, before he joined the Spanish giants prior to start of penultimate season.
The midfielder exclaimed that life was good when he used to represent Arsene Wenger’s side as things greatly worked in his favour back then. However, he maintained that an offer by Barca can lure in any player as it is once in a lifetime moment.
While praising his current club, Fabregas disclosed that he could not say no when La Azulgrana came knocking for his services but maintained that playing for Arsenal is an experience that he will always cherish throughout his career.
The Barca number 4 revealed that if his current team would not have approached his services, he would have stayed there and even end his career at the Emirates Stadium.
While talking to Foot Mercato, the 25-year-old was quoted as saying:
“It was a dream for me to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, but I was not bitter about Arsenal. On the contrary, I lived in the most beautiful city in the world, I was in an incredible team with a great coach and the fans loved me.”
“It was not a matter of life or death. If Barca had not come, I would have spent my entire career at Arsenal. That is certain.”
Cesc joined his childhood club in the summer of 2011 after an extended period of negotiations between the two teams. Although Arsene Wenger made several attempts to keep his side’s skipper at bay, the footballer had immense desire to move to his native country.
Ironically, the midfielder had difficulties settling in at the Nou Camp as he later revealed that he was not coping well with the change of tactics which he experienced at the new club. Nevertheless, Fabregas did manage to win a trophy with his new club,
