  1. don't call it londonderry anyway, its just derry. just relax and have a laugh!

  2. A bullet proof vest, written document's to prove that you are neither Catholic or Prodestant ( depending on which part of the city you will be in) and a taste for drink, and none of that fancy wine shite either. good luck and hope you enjoy your experience......

  3. Drink Guiness beer and act cool or else your gonna get beat down!?!??!?!??!??!

  4. Leonardo. First you ned to know that Londonderry as you correctly called it is in Northern Ireland. That means it is part of the Uk so it is British. A few people from southern Ireland call it Derry as they do not like London. But its Londonderry. The north being british is radically diffeent to the south which is Irish. THats very important for you to know. People in north are very different to the Irish in the south. Accents, religion, money, food, sport, ideas etc are completely different.. If you are staying in Londonderry then its The uk you are visiting.

  5. Ciao Leonardo,

    *for culture-

people in Ireland love to chat and have fun together, the best times are just making jokes with friends. When someone laughs at you or mocks you, they are not being nasty they are ahving funa nd it normally means that they like you!

Irish people can be quite sarcastic, don't take everything seriously!

A lot of social time revolves around food and drink, probably like Italy (....?) For example, having dinner with friends, meeting with friends for a cup of tea or coffee, going to the pub with friends, having a takeaway at weekend.

Life is modern here and Derry is like any other modern European city, with young people interested in friends,internet,playstation,music,fun,a... etc.

    *habits-

    cars on LEFT of road.

Irish people like to complain...about everything!

most Irish people like to stay up late rather than go to bed early and get up early, so stay up too!

Timekeeping isn't that important to people. So things will seem late to you. For example, if you see that something is going to start at 8:00, don't be surprised if it doesn't til 8:30 or if your friend says they will be there at 10am don't be worried if they aren't there til 11:30 am hahaha!

    weekdays= work/school

    evenings+weekends=fun

Most people have 3 main meals a day:breakfast, lunch, evening meal(called dinner or "tea") with snacks in between.

    *food-

you might find the food quite unhealthy to what you're used to...

    breakfast-

cereal and milk or hot fried meal

    lunch-

    sandwich/soup/snacks

    dinner

    veg&meat

    snacks-

Crisps and chocolate and fizzy drinks like Coke are very popular. Fruit often not preferred option!

    tea/coffee-

drank everyday by most people(not me though)important socially..

    *The life in Londonderry-

People in Derry are quite friendly and relaxed but at the same time, confident, loud and speak their mind, so don't be shocked or scared!Girls are not that shy!

Just be laid back, smile and be friendly too and you will get to know people too.

Derry people are known for their hairstyles, especially the guys! Young people very fashion conscious...

Music(all kinds) and art is an important thing for young people there.

Shopping (clothes/music/books) is very good in Derry, but not that cheap, however the Euro is good against the Sterling right now, so exchange for some pounds!

Wow I wrote a lot hope that helps!

    Ciao!

  6. You don't need to know about anything, we will show you everything when you get here.

I do irish dancing! Its My favourite hobby!! very common over here!

Okay you've probably heard but the weather is c**p over here! but youre coming in june so it might be nice by then! =)

There are loads of shops in Derry too!! and people are generally friendly!

so I hope you enjoy it when you come over and I hope my information helped you!
