  1. They are correct.  The list is long but if you look in Publication 17  it will give you the list.  Go to www.irs.gov and type in Publication 17.  Then search for deductible/nondeductible.

Good luck....you will be amazed what could be deducted.

  2. The list is too long for here but all work related expenses can be considered for deduction. Contact your accountant or tax professional for more info.

Just save all your dockets for the whole year and they should be able to sort through it.

  3. The list goes on forever but you can claim tax on petrol or a laptop if it involves with your own business etc. If you work in an office you can also claim one handbag or luggage piece each year on your tax. If you work for a particular workplace with certain shoes, keep the reciept and you may claim this, hope this helps but it's a bit impossible to list everything...i guess maybe a tax consultant would be helpful!

  4. -buisness travels

    -petrol

    -car expenses

    -stationary if purchased for work

    -compulsory work uniform

-laptops, computer, ir software from your computer if used for work

-mobile, phone, or internet connections if you required to use them for work

-briefcase, or bags used for work

    -income protection insurance

    -overtime meals

    -union fees

-money for training course or seminars

really depends what kind of job your in but theses are just basic things

  5. This is australia the highest tax place on earth you get sweet fa there are some depending on your how you earn your income. see an accountant not the hrblocks the dont know much beyond the bare minimum you can become one of there prep dudes in two weeks and $400 dollars

  6. You can claim a deduction for an expense which is incurred in the course of earning your income, to the extent that it is not of a private or domestic nature (and is allowable). So... it depends on what you do to earn an income. You would need to provide more information :)
