I'd sure help when someone posts a question  like this if they'd tell us just what bike they're asking about. There is more than one '84 Honda Shadow.

A '84 VT500C Shadow should be at about $1280.

A '84 VT700C Shadow should be at about $1690.

KBB only gives dealer or trade in prices. You probably won't get what the dealer gets for it, and you certainly shouldn't pay more from a private party..

trade in = $312.00

new value = $694.00

note that these values are from a book... the bike would get much more than that with 5000 mi.
