I would like for someone to help me figure out where my last name comes from. My last name is Kannapel.?

It is pronounced can-apple. I think its like the worst name to have because it is so weird.

I'll eat my hat if it is not a changed spelling of a German name.  Don't hate it!  It's nice to be unique!

Moreover, when I googled it, I found it not to be so unusual.  Mine is rarer than that, which means more people misspell it...
