I lived in a foster home for a long time when I grew up.

Now I would like to help another children.

I would like to adopt a child/children(NOT be a foster parents).

I live in the northern part of Palm Beach County,Florida.

Is it expensive and diffucult to go through a domestic adoption?

Is the waiting time very long?

I need advice who I should turn to who has a lot of knowlege about domestic adoptions etc.

Do you know any good sites Online with this information and contact information etc.?

I think we first of all should help the orphans i our own country before we adopt childrens from other countries.

There are SO many American children without parents out there who have only one wish, to have a family of their own...

I also would like to hear from others who have been through all this.

Please e-mail ASAP at:

Sincerely,

Mrs. Anne Wilson (soon 38 years old)

  1. I THINK IT IS VERY NICE FOR YOU TO WANT TO ADOPTED OTHER KIDS.THAT ARE LIKE YOU IN FOSTER CARE.YOU WILL NEED TO GO AND TALK TO HUMAN SERVICE.THEY COULD TELL YOU HOW TO ADOPTED A CHILD THAT IS IN FOSTER CARE. I LOVE TO HERE THAT THEY ARE PEOPLE OUT THEIR.THAT DO CARE. I WAS APODTED 40 YRS OLDBY A REAL GOOD LADY.AND SHE ADOPTED ASON TO. AND THEN ABOUT 5 YRS AGO SHE ADOPTED 3 MORE.THEY WERE IN FOSTER CARE FOR ALMOST 3 YRS.EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE HER GRANDCHILDREN. THEY WERE BOUNCE AROUND FOR 2 YRS. SO THEY WERE UP FOR ADOPTED BY OTHER PEOPLE AND WE HAPPEN TO GET THEM FIRST.

SO GOOD LUCK.LET ALL OF US KNOW WHEN YOU GET A NEW CHILD::::::CRANFILD@BELLSOUTH.NET. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO WRITE SOMETIMES,WE CAN TALK IF YOU WOULD LIKE TOO.

  2. Hey, congratulations on deciding to look into adoption!

A lot of the specifics will depend on the age of child that you want to adopt.  If you want a newborn, the process is lengthier and possibly more expensive (because it's customary to cover the birth mother's medical costs) but of course the advantage is that you can be part of your child's life from the first breath.  Plus, newborn adoptions are the only ones that can be "open" if you are interested in having contact with the biological family.

Reach out to potential birthmoms- http://www.parentprofiles.com

If adopting a non-newborn sounds good to you, then you'd probably make a good candidate for "fost-adopt."  I know you said you don't want to be a foster parent- that's not what I'm talking about.  In fost-adopt, you take in a waiting child who is legally available for adoption, and they stay with you in foster status until the paperwork goes through for the adoption.  All it means is that you can have the kid in your house from the very beginning, which cuts down on the waiting time.  This method is the least expensive.

Search waiting children in Florida- http://photolisting.adoption.com/foster-...

Whichever route you choose to take, the first thing you have to do is get a homestudy: http://home-study.adoption.com/

    Good luck in your adoption!

  3. Hello Anne, first of all, never release your real name (or phone numbers/address etc.).

Second, there are several different types of adoptions: local, infant, older child, international etc. It's up to you to find out what works best for you. This is not the time to go completely altruistic or patriotic, the point is to get a child you can raise. For example, I know I can not manage to raise a special needs child well enough, so I am going for a relatively healthy baby.

Third, adoption agencies are familiar with all the questions you have asked, so you should contact them. Get a local listing for adoption agencies and social workers that deal with adoptions in your town and pick one - all you need is information.

Fourth, generally, infant adoptions in north America take a long time. However, adopting older children (who may have attachment problems at the very minimum due to the many foster homes they have been to) should take less time, but can be difficult to handle emotionally.

Last, join up adoption.com - it's a great web site with a huge amount of information on various issues.

  4. start by going to library and reading go on line and type in adoptions  it all depends on what your true desires are follow your heart not your wallet there are many children waiting all over the world and in your area.   I advise classes.   Lawa iin all states vary we ended up in russia because it was right for us.  al adoptions are different.  It is expensive and time consuming but worth it in the end.  there is endless paper work to do home studiesetc.  It is what you really want to be as a parent that will guide you
