  1. Commercial pilot? sure

    but for Air Canada?

doubt it. AC will hire true Canadian citizens (as in born here) first mainly to be safe: They don't want future problems targeting them, problems like racial profiling, anti-Muslim accusations, reasonable accommodations, or whatever else may occur. Also, if you have a rather pronounced accent, your chances are reduced further. They don't want communication problems either.

After 9/11, unfortunately, Muslims are rather unfavored in employee hiring, especially in the field of aviation.

I'm of Chinese descent, I look Chinese but two generations of my family were born in North America. I speak 3 languages fluently and mediocre Spanish , and I have a PPL going on CPL. I don't think I have the same chance of being hired by AC compared to a true Canadian citizen with the same skills as me yet. Maybe in 5-10 years.

  2. Air Canada is laying off pilots and they are the last airline you want to work for.

Go fly for a company that has some respect for it's employee's and the public!

As for your background, if you are a good student and pilot you will get a job.

    Good luck

  3. Your limits are determined by you. Dream big and go for it. Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot do something. Never settle for no. Good luck.
