  1. Yes, but unless you go to the USA, it is unlikely to happen.

Also remember, you are entitled to free care here, but will have to pay in the USA.

  2. What for?  Are you trying to escape your own socialized medical system?  The "model health care system" that our own politicians are trying to emulate?

We have more than our share of nuts and fruitcakes filling up our mental hospitals as it is, with many more running free and causing no end of trouble.  They call themselves "liberals" and "politicians."

I'd suggest you stay there and take the British medicine.  Stiff upper lip and all that, eh, what?

  3. Phone  the behavioral health (psychiatric hospital) nearest you and request an intake evaluation. You will need to go in for the eval. You might qualify to go in. Insurance will be billed.

If you have a court ordered hospitalization, you  get out when the hospital and court says so. The government pays the cost of the hospitalization.

If you go into a hospital ER and say you are suicidal, you will go, in restraints,  by ambulance to the psych hospital.

Alternative: many psych hospitals have out patient programs - You might want to look into this.

  4. if you go to louisiana and show up in an ER threatening to kill yourself or someone else, you WILL wind up mentally in a hospital. that is one way to get into one but i wouldn't reccomend it.

  5. Really  I don't understand the background to this question...At face value  it would appear to be that you have a mental problem,   and that a hospital in Louisiana   might offer you the best treatment  for your condition....  You could request this   but whether  it would be acceded to I am not sure...  I doubt that the NHS would fund this,  and even if you paid all costs privately  it might be difficult to arrange...

  6. You can if you can pay for it, otherwise I suggest you use the NHS services

  7. no, you may not request it, do know that you may end up locked up if you committed some unlawful act, you insurance would probably not be valid in the US, therefore, you can imagine where you would end up?.................................?

send back to the UK ,

why do you want to be institutionalized in Louisiana?

  8. Is this an illness that only america can cure? Sounds like your working on a visa and not your mental health. The UK has many shrinks AND free healthcare. Why would anyone ask to be 'locked away' in america?

  9. Why dont you just go to Canada

  10. Ask away- but you'll be told NO.

I'm waiting for Physiotherapy, following a car crash (not my fault) and i'd like to receive treatment in The Seychelles, but it's not going to happen!

  11. You can voluntarily check yourself into a mental institution here in the United States.  And since you check yourself in voluntarily, you may also leave anytime you wish (unless, I believe, the staffbelieves you to be a major threat to yourself or others -- don't quote me on this last part.)
