It seems like I have no time to spend with my family. My husband is just starting an at-home small engine business that is hitting off very well. In the fall, my daughter starts pre-school which is an added expense on top of the daycare. I really feel like all I have time for is to sleep and work! I really want to stay at home with my daughter, since she is the only one we are able to have and I am missing out on way to much. Finances are the only thing keeping me from that. Anyone have any advice on where to start?

  1. Take your paycheck every payday and put in it a savings account for 6 months. If you can live without it, stay home.

  2. You could spend a couple hours a day online with SFI Marketing which for the past 3 years is the #1 ranked Home Based Business in the world. The best news it is FREE to join their Affiliate program so you can have your hands on all of their training material and resources before you decide to start a Co-op with them.

Please take a look at the above link and you will find some very interesting information. Then Join SFI and after reading some FAQ's please feel free to ask my further questions.

  3. So stay home and take her out of daycare...she doesn't need day care and preschool you know...she doesn't even HAVE to go to preschool.

  4. I am a stay at home mom. My husband is a cop and we barely live pay check to pay check. We don't own a house, we rent. Which is ok by us. I worked full time with my first child and being able to stay at home with my second one is great. I wouldn't change a thing. I mean a house would be nice and we could have alot more and do more if I was working but its not worth missing out on their childhood. I say cut back as much as you can. With your daughter being in pre k. maybe get a part time job while she is at school. Check with her school and see if they are hiring. Like I said cut back as much as possible. You not working will cut back on daily expenses of gas and lunch if you eat out. Clip coupons to help with groceries. Good luck.

also, check with your school disctrict. our district has a pre k program that is free. My son attended last year.

  5. You are probably going to get a bunch of people telling you about some work at home opportunities, but most of them are scams.  I say give your husband's business a few more months to see if he can support the family on that income alone.  Try downgrading things if you can.... meaning cars, and other living expenses.  Most people spend way more on little things (like groceries... I don't know why people don't always buy store brands) that they don't even realize.  Keep a very detailed log of what you spend each month, and see where you can cut out.  If you still need more income, maybe you could consider part time during a time when your husband is home.  I totally feel for you.  I stay at home with my 2 little ones, and it's a blessing to be able to do so.  I'm willing to sacrifice anything to do it.

  6. Well, the only thing I can think of is trying to downsize the lifestyle a little bit to maybe save money on things you don't necessarily need .... like boats or motorcycle payments, luxury items etc.  Sometimes you have to choose which one you'd like to have more.  If you could eliminate some expenses that way it might help your situation, if possible?

Also, I am dealing with the expensive issue of PreK myself right now I know how stressful it is.  Good luck with everything.

  7. downsize, if you rent, move to a smaller place. If you have a mortgage, maybe refinance to get that extra money and it could replace your income. Stop eating out, clip coupons, and make a budget and stick to it. However much your paycheck is is how much you will most likely have to compensate for. Seriously though, try refinancing if you own your home, thats probably the best suggestion i can make
