I am looking to purchase my husband a GPS unit for his birthday. He is an HVAC service technician that is all over three counties in Pennsylvania everyday. Is there a model that anyone could recommend? I am looking for the best model at a great value. I have noticed that the NAVIGON has a lot of great features at a good price. Has anyone ever used this model?

Thanks

  1. I have an Intellinav2 unit that works great. You can get one for around 200.00 QVC has them or you can order direct from their website. Only problem Ive found is updates. Cost about 80.00 for new maps,  but you should only have to do that every couple of years.

  2. TomTom is nice but stay away from the TomTOM "one" or the "one XL"

The higher 500 or Higher models are better..

also "Handsfree" is important if  he wants to talk on his cell handsfree

  3. All the GPS units are about the same you want to get one from a company that updates their maps regularly.  Remember the GPS is only as good as the map.  Garmin and TomTom are my recommendations.

  4. I have a preference for TomTom, but Garmin is also good.  I've never used NAVIGON.
