  1. If you are using Vista, I would get more ram.

In XP that would be fine though.

  2. go for 4 gb RAM and at least 512mb Graphics memory for a slightly futureproof gaming monster

  3. Your video card is a little lackluster for that system, but yeah, it should be able to run pretty much anything out there at the moment.

  4. Get a Mac ...... Simple

  5. just about, yeah. if you can upgrade the card to at least an 8800GT then you will be able to play cod4 on max and games like crysis will look ok too. the 8400 is a pretty weak card and only worth about £40, that's why companies put them in and big them up saying vista will run, direct x 10 etc but for 3D games it just don't cut it. As for the ram, you'll prob have a pre installed version of vista premium 32bit so it can only use 3.5gb of ram anyway. you could add another 2gb and waste a bit as its so cheap now but 2gb is fine for now and wont make any difference gaming on a 19" screen.

if you really want to get into gaming on a pc then try to avoid people like packard bell etc. get one purpose built for the job you want it to do. have a look here and see if you can get a better deal by handpicking the parts. the pre-configured under £600 (£544 to be precise) comes with a top notch card, 4gb ram and 64bit windows. only thing you dont get is a monitor. but you get the idea!

build it yourself is even better but its not always that easy.

    hope this helps

  6. Your CPU is fine, your Ram could be jacked up a bit, it is cheap now, Think you can buy 1gb for $10 at www.consumerdepot.com

You will be able to play most games but the resolution will have to be turned down becuase your graphics card will not be able to handle the game.
