What is a good quality water filtration system for my mother. She does not like the taste of the water where she lives. I have no idea what kinds are out there and how good they are, can anyone help me?

Thanks!

  1. I like the Pur filtration system.  It's widely available, about $75, sometimes less.  I've seen them at Costco, Target, etc.

You simply s***w it onto existing kitchen faucet.  No tools required.  The filters are very easy to change - she can probably do it herself, unless she's disabled.  It has a k**b, so you can turn it on and off.  I use it for drinking water only, and it lasts a long time.

I've had this for three or four years.  I got a filter that didn't last once, called the company and they sent a coupon for a new one.  I also got a new washer (for the faucet) from them, free.  They have great customer service.

My local water tastes terrible too, which is why I got this.  I also have a filtered pitcher.  It would probably be a hassle for your mom.  It's heavy, if you fill it up too much.  She'd probably prefer the faucet - I do.

  2. bought a two stage filter from Lowe's for around $100. It has two cartridges. One filters particulate matter, the other chemicals, etc. It was relatively easy to install cutting the hole for the spout being the most difficult. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself ask if they can recommend someone to do it for you.

  3. google it.
