I am in the market for a gas bar b q grill and don't know what i should get?!?! I am fustrated because the sales people try to get you to buy things you don't need and one store says one thing and the other ones say another. I am single but do have small get togethers so maybe a medium size would do. I don't know if they all use the same amount of fuel or if some are more efficient or what. Price is also important to me. I don't need to spend an arm and a leg nor do I want to. What do u think would be a good brand, have you had experiance with the gas grill? I have always used charchoal.

  1. what are neighbors for? ask around at all those barbeque's somebody there is dying ,literally dying to tell you about his gas grill ,so find him he will tell you all you want to know and all you'd rather you didn't know about grills.........tom

  2. Well, the thing you probably DON'T need is one with a separate burner on the side - I got suckered into buying one with that and we NEVER use it.  The amount of fuel they use is more or less redundant - if you cook something on low, you'll use less & if you cook something with all burners on high, well you'll wind up with charcoal for dinner so you really can't go by that.  I find that the gas grills with the burners that go from front to back do a better job than the ones that go side to side (we do a lot of indirect grilling where the food is in the center & the front & back burner are lit)  There is more space for the food when they go front to back - just something to consider.   It really depends on how much food you plan on grilling at one time as to how big you want the grill to be.  If you're just doing a few hamburgers or a couple of steaks then you don't need a high-end behemoth of a grill.  Just watch out for the bells and whistles that jack the prices up (side burners & rotisseries) We have a Weber, but they can get kind of pricey - CharBroil is one of the brands that seem to go to c**p faster than others, but if you keep it covered during inclement weather most of them do a decent job for a few years.  You should be able to find some decent sales this time of  year, too.  good luck!

  3. i have a medium grill it has two burners and it takes about 3 months for me to run out of fuel(i grill alot) and im able to cook alot of food and save fuel.

Your best bet is to buy Lava Rocks and a small metal wire screen and but that in with the lava rocks so that way the lava rocks heat up and hold heat(then you can turn the grill of and save tons of fuel)
