You can select a property along the Chennai - Bangalore Highway westward since lot of MNCs are there along(like Hyundai,Saint Gobin,many more are in pipeline).

Also you should make it a habit of visiting your plot once in a while after purchase.

Bkas as you may aware, some ' uninvited guests ' can put up a temporary thatched shed on your plot & later demand a money to vacate( or 'give' ) your plot to you( they play with the help of local thugs.But it is not happening everywhere.But it is real & happenning....

Lot depends on your Budget...

Other option is, look for property in Southern Chennai  along Mahabalipuram( old & new) Road since lot of IT Shops are in that route,Water is good,good appreciation chance since IT is booming in leaps & bounds........

It is better to buy plots in the chennai to kancheepuram via padappai, sriperumbudur(near Hyundai, nokia etc), where a lot of companies are coming.

In 5 years it will fetch a minimum of  6 to 10 times of your invested money

buy near nelangari it is a very desent and costly.If you want to reduce the cost buy near IT highway like madipakkam medavakkam,tambaram etc
