I would like to create a yahoo-group where only members may be allowed .others should not view or edit .how?

While creating your group, when you get to the "Membership Type", select  "Restricted (you approve all requests for membership)".  Then, only members can access the group features. Only the owner/moderator can invite, add or delete members. Good luck with your new group - I hope you enjoy it!

only owners and moderators can delete certain things. for web features, you'll want to scroll those to make sure area's are only for members. and archives. tose are found under management- under group settings web tools, and also messages. members can always remove themselves from a group at any time.
