  1. The downloaded  file format should not be an issue just get yourself a program like nero that will convert the files to an appropriet format

  2. Cda format and sometimes wma works as well

  3. No, wma files won't work. You need .cda format.

Just use your Windows Media Player to burn the CD. It automatically converts mp3 files into .cda.

  4. It's not possible to read a CD disc containing MP3 (as well as WMA) files to an ordinary CD player. It's so hard to solve this. I recommend that you should burn a CD by transferring from either MP3 or WMA format file to CD quality data using a media player software like Windows Media, Real Player, etc. Once you burn a CD in CD quality format, your ordinary CD player will work.

Alternatively, I recommend that you should use a CD player that has MP3 and/or WMA decoder to your CD disc containing MP3 and/or WMA file.
